* FAQ

- How do I put files into GPlayer?
To add files to your GPlayer app, you have to go to iTunes, and select the “Apps” tab. At the bottom of this page, there’s a “File sharing” section – just select GPlayer in the list, and add files from there. Note that you don’t have to sync your iPhone or iPad to iTunes to add movies. Just drop files in the “File sharing” tab, and they’ll be uploaded immediately. You can even use a friend’s iTunes to add videos to your own iPhone. Also, adding files over WiFi is supported. Indeed, WiFi is significantly slower than USB, and ruins the battery life.

- What kind of streams does GPlayer play?
GPlayer is able to play RTSP and MMS streams. For now those can’t be added to the media library, but you can click an RTSP or MMS url in Safari or Mail for example.
If you want to use GPlayer to open HTTP/FTP streaming, add "gplayer:" prefix in the URL.

- I want to explicitely open an attachment with GPlayer?
If you want to watch an attachment in GPlayer(from Mail for example), just do a long press on the attachment. A menu will pop-up that will let you pick GPlayer as a player.

- iTunes won’t let me install GPlayer on my iPhone or iPod Touch?
Unfortunately, we had to drop support for older iOS devices such as the iPhone 3G or the first two versions of iPods. Indeed, after some testing, we realized those weren’t fast enough to provide a pleasant experience.

- Why HD MKV movies don’t play smoothly?
Currently, only iPad 2 supports 720p MKV file, that’s to be expected. The other iDevices have limited computing power, and cannot handle the complex task of decoding HD movies in real time.

- The audio and the video is not in sync?
That is because the CPU is not power enough to do video decoding, you can try to enable "Skip Frame" in the settings page.

- Is there a TV-out support?
Yep, supports iPod gen4, iPhone4, iPhone4S and iPad 1/2.

Only one complaint!

I have only one complaint about this awesome player- it doesn’t put the videos in proper order. Which requires you to double check every episode’s title to make sure you’re watching them in order. Plays all video formats and has a decent user interface.

If there was playlist selection or just proper organization of video titles I would give this 5 stars.

Has always worked perfectly for me!

I have had this App for several years and it has always done exactly what I need it to! Being able to wirelessly transfer video content to my device is very convenient, and the in app video functions such as the 15 second swipe gesture is great! I think my only complaint is that when you leave the app for any reason it seems to open and refresh and will not save your place in a video. That however has never been a huge problem for me personally, being that it only takes a second to scroll to where I left off. Overall, you get a lot of functionality and options for media transfer and playback, easily a five star rating in my book!

Need to fix the bug ASAP.

Second time rating this app.

First I have to say it’s still my favorite app. It supports importing a folder directly from my Mac, which means I don’t need to spend time managing all the pics and vids into a neat order. Much more convenient compared to VLC since it doesn’t support viewing pics.

However, there’re something I need to complain. First, some avi video cannot be played, which I believe it not the issue of copyright or something since they were captured by my own camera and I compressed them. VLC could decode them and play them, so I’m not sure if it’s a problem. But it’s just annoying.

Secondly, all the files are in a seemingly random order. I’ve arranged all the files on my Mac in the alphabetical order, and they’re “perfectly” disarranged when I import them into GPlayer regardless of the file size, name or anything. I’m totally confused and it’s a HUGE problem for me since I need to scroll through all the files to locate the one I wanna pick up. That’s terrible. Really need to fix it developers.

My devices: iPhoneX and iPad Pro 10.5 2nd gen both run IOS 11.2.5.

Love your work. Please make it better after all these years.
